For the Skalli family, wine is much more than a profession, it is a tradition, built up over three generations with a pioneering spirit that is dedicated to discovering the potential of the Mediterranean wines and creating great wines.
For several generations now, the Skalli family has been driven by its passion for vines and wines, from the discovery of terroirs to the creation of wines. This passion goes back to Algeria in the 1920s when the grandfather, Robert-Elie Skalli, selected the best land around Oran, Mascara, Mostaganem and Ain Temouchent. Then he planted Southern French varieties such as Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache and Alicante.
Francis, the father, grew and made full-bodied generous wines produced from low-yielding vines and marketed them via great French and Swiss merchants. Those good years left the family with a special love of southern wines, warm lands and sunny climes.
Following their forefather’s footsteps, Francis and Robert Skalli took up the baton, first in the Languedoc and then in Corsica. They upheld family’s vocation to discover new terroirs in the great Mediterranean wine-producing regions to expose their wealth and specificity in appealing modern wines.
Today, with Famille Skalli wines, the family uses its name on its cherished wines full of garrigue flavours and memories...
